That’s “em ex zero” to spell it out.

My three favorite comedy mangas are School Rumble, Midori no Hibi, and Pretty Face. School Rumble is just ridiculous, MnH even more so, and Pretty Face… it’s just so hilarious. So of course, it would only make sense that I would pursue more mangas by these manga-kas.

Midori no Hibi’s manga-ka’s current project is a manga called Aikora, AKA Love and Collage. It’s absolutely hilarious, but somehow doesn’t seem to be as brilliant as MnH. It did have several parts that made fall out of my chair with laughter. It’s a light hearted manga, even if it’s about fetishes. Yeah, it sounds odd and perverted, but somehow it manages to not be as extreme as some other mangas I’ve read.

On the other hand, the manga-ka for Pretty Face, KANO Yasuhiro, has been working on a manga known as Mx0. Everything that made Pretty Face great is included, except the formula has been mastered. Cute girls + comedy + action = a sure win combination, especially since the Kano lowered the ecchi level to a slight more fitting level.

The story itself sounds rather typical, but Kano knows how to keep things interesting. The main character is certainly one of the driving forces behind the manga with his hilarious antics, though certainly, the ever growing supporting cast is getting much better. The artwork is fantastic, and it’s nice to see Kano begin varying the looks of the girls…

Well, basic stuff… Normal kid finds himself at a magical school. Unfortunately, he can’t actually do magic, and has to rely on brute strength. A complication is that everyone else at school thinks he has a “Gold Card,” which is for the highest level of magic. Oh, and there’s a cute girl. Absolutely wonderful…

Anyway, it’s one of my favorite ongoing mangas at the moment, often finding itself on my download list the same day, maybe even hour of it’s release. It’s fantastic and I really recommend it to everyone I know. I doubt you’ll find yourself disappointed.
